Many thanks for your help Rick, I have found the Abacus Owner Builder Course very comprehensive and easy to follow.    I'm most probably not the best candidate for a testimonial, I've been in the construction industry for a bit over 35 years.
   I am a Licensed plumber and did the Advanced Certificate in Building Supervision in the early ninties and have been doing Building Supervision in the commercial/civil construction field since that time, so you were preaching to the converted.. Unfortunately its cheaper to do this (for a one off project) than take out a Builders License!
    
   But here goes;
   The course is well constructed, especialy important was the emphasis on Statutary requirements in the Approval, Insurance & Safety aspects of the Residential Construction field. The spread sheets for programming and scheduling will be invaluable to Owner Builders.

    I just want you to know that I have now completed the course and have my certificate for which I thank you.
    
    I must say that it was a very helpful course to complete and found all the information easy to follow, although I have been involved with construction management I learned a lot that I need to know in the building process.  All the supporting documentation is excellent so that it makes it possible for an average person to build their own home.
    
    It was also good to have the connection to Trade outlets and trade sub-contractors, which I have already used and found helpful.

    Yes I worked it out thats what is was.  I have sumitted final assessment and attached is the estimating instructions work sheet ( was not sure if you wanted that).
    
    Cross my fingers, it is a great course and i enjoyed doing the last assessment as it really makes you think about what to do on the site and what  say to a contractors for the job to run smoothly.

    By the way, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the course.  As you might have gathered from my responses to the questions, I'm becoming an owner builder because of a bad experience with a builder which has resulted in us having to terminate the contract with him.  In hindsight, I wished I had done this course before engaging the builder - things might have turned out differently. 
    
    Also, as a suggestion, you might want to review the information in the notes about when an owner builder needs to seek workers compensation insurance as it appears to me quite ambiguous.  I ended up contacting Workcover NSW who confirmed that for my situation I wouldn't need workers compensation insurance as I was engaging contractors not employing workers.  I think this distinction needs to be made much clearer in the notes, particularly given that most owner-builders would probably be in a similar situation.
    
    Apart from that it was all good.
