AS1170.0 - 2002 General Principles

Provides the procedure of structural design. It includes design procedure, reference to design actions (other parts of the series), combinations of actions, detailing the robustness, methods of analysis and methods for confirmation of limit state design.

AS 1288 - 2006 Glass in buildings - selection and installation

Specifies procedures for the design, selection and installation of glass in buildings. Includes guidence for installation practice, based on proven techniques.

AS 1680.1 2006 - Interior Lighting

Provides general principles and recommendations for the lighting of building interiors to enhance the performance and comfort of those performing visual tasks. Deals with illuminating essential task details, using both artificial light and daylight, while controlling or excluding factors that might cause visual discomfort.

AS 1684 (Set) - National Timber Framing Code

Specifies requirements for building practise and for the selection, placement and fixing of the various structual elements used in the construction of timber-framed Class 1 and Class 10 buildings, as defined in the Building Code of Australia, for Cylonic ares and non-Cyclonic areas.

AS 1926.1 - Swimming Pool Safety

Established safety requirements for design construction and peformance of barriers, windows and doorsets for swimming pools of the tyoes normally installed for private use. It is also applicable for public use if consideration is taken of the difeering dynamics of public swimming pools to private swimming pools.

AS 2047 - 1999 Windows in Buildings - Selection & Installation

Specific requirements for materials, construction, installation and glazing for windows, sliding doors, adjustable glass louvres, shopfronts and window walls with one-piece framing elements.

AS 2049 - 2002 Roof Tiles

Provides manufacturers of roof tiles with design specifications and performance requirements for non-metalic interlocking roof tiles for use in domestic, commercial or light industrial applications

AS 2050 -2002 Installation of Roof Tiles

Sets out requirements for the placement and installing of roof tiles of the types specified in AS 2049. The installing methods described in this Standard apply only to tiled roofs of buildings that are intended for domestic, commercial or light industrial purposes for wind classifications N1-N4 and C1-C3.

AS 2870 - 1996 Resedential slabs and footings - Construction

Set out the requirments for the classification of a site and the design and construction of a footing system for a single dwelling house, town house or the like which may be detached or seperated by a party wall or common wall but not situated vertically above or below another dwelling. The standard may also apply to other forms of construction including some light commercial and institutional buildings if they are similar to house in size, loading and superstructure flexibility. The footing systems for which designs are given include slab-on gorund, stiffened rafts, waffle rafts, strip footings, pad footings and pitted footings. The designs in this standard do not apply to industrial buildings.

AS/NZS 2904 -1995 Damp-proof courses and flashings

Specifies the requirements for damp-proof course and flashing materials of the sheet membran, strip and collar type use in building construction. It does not cover vapour barriers; or mortar-type damp-proof courses.

AS 3000. 20000 Wiring Rules

Provides uniform essential elements that constitute the minimum regulatory requirements for a safe electrical installation.

AS 3623 - 1993 Protection of buildings from subterranean termites - prevention, detection and treatment of infestation


AS 3700 - 2001 Masonry Structures

Provides designers, engineers and specifiers with the minimum requirements for the design and construction of un reinforced and pretressed masonry, including built-in components, for use in masonry applications.

AS 3727 - 1993 Guide to resedential pavements

Provides recomendations for pavements associated with housing developments. Guidlines are given for pavement designs on well-drained, naturally occuring subgrades which do not include reactive soil sites. References are made to pavements of concrete, segmental paving units, asphalt and bituminous spray seal.

AS 3740 - 2004 Waterproofing of wet areas within resedential buildings

Sets out criteria for wet areas with residential buildings. Provides minimun requirements for materials, design and installation.

AS 3959 - 2009 Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas

Sets out requirements for the construction of buildings in bush-fire prone areas in order to improve their performance when they are subjected to burning debris, radient heat ir flame contact generated from bush fire. Also includes a methodology for assessing catagories of bushfire attack in respect of a site situated in an area that has been designated by a relevant authority as bushfire-prone.

AS 4285 - 2007 Skylights

Sets out requirements of product performance, safety, design, construction and maintenance, including installation requirements, test conditions and procedures.

AS 4349 Inspection of buildings


AS/NZS 4386.1 Domestic Kitchen Assemblies

Specifies the minimun requirements for the construction, durability, saefty, ergonomics, strength, coordination of services and choice of components of fitted kitchen assemblies for use in domestic applications.

AS/NZS 4455 Solar Heating - Domestic water heating systems


AS/NZS 4505 - 1998 Domestic Garage Doors

Specifies requirements for the design, construction, performance of garage doors. It also specifies the resultant loads on structures onto which such garage doors are mounted.
